Open Floor movement uses the universal language of dance to empower self discovery, connection and healing
There is power in trusting ourselves, relying on our intuitions, being able to act even in the face of uncertainty.
- Levoy
Have you ever had an ah-ha moment on the dance floor?
For time immemorial, shaman and magicians have used dance to enhance their extrasensory capacities. It serves as a linkage interrupter for our pattern-loving brains. When we engage in improv-movement with presence and attention, we break habitual perspectives and make new nuro-connections. That’s why we have have those ah-ha moments, get expansive perspectives, and experience awakenings on the dance floor. Some neuroscientists believe that pattern interruption practices help us to improve our brain’s ability to unconsciously recognize patterns - this is intuition. Dance helps us cultivate that Spidey Sense - helps us be those people who just know, just feel it, just have a hunch that turns out to be spot on.
